PAUL ASKEW UP TOP!
« on: January 02, 2017, 01:49:00 PM »
Congratulations to my friend Paul Askew (aka Roy D. Mercer).  He is a saavy and hard-working woodsman/tradional archer.

Paul graciously hosted me on my only successful Elk harvest, that I took a few years ago in Oregon, hunting with him.

Great job buddy,  hope to share a campfire with you again  in the future!  :campfire:  :campfire:

Lol. Thanks Barry. I went back there to that spot this year and apparently 6 years ago it burned. No elk to speak of but mule deer are everywhere.

It would actually be a great otc hunt if guys wanted to organize a traditional deer hunt. I saw some nice bucks. I'm not much for mule deer as I like our late season Blacktail hunt better and went to pursue elk but it wasn't like it was when you killed yours.

Something that I think is pretty cool. I bought a bow off the classifieds here in 2009 or 2010 from Paul. In 2010 I went on a "tradgang" elk hunt and killed a bull with that bow. Barry was on that hunt and I was hunting with him when I killed it. I never knew at that time that you two had hunted together (Barry and Paul).

Congrats Paul!

Tradgang definitely unites people. I still need to go hunt deer with Barry.

Attaboy!
Paul - what is the thick piece in the front of your quiver? Is it an add on to hold the top and bottom together so you can take it off your bow?
