New Blacktail 'Columbian' T/D longbow...
« on: January 02, 2017, 09:54:00 PM »
G'day guys,

Well I see Blacktail bows have released a new model, a 3 piece take down longbow. Not that I need another bow - I have two really nice 3 piece recurves as it is - but... they sure do look nice!

Has anyone given one a test drive? Bought one maybe?

If I was to order one it'd be just a standard bow for me... I'd be way to frightened to even shoot some of the bows that company put out!

Cheers,

AK.

I love the looks of the design. It reminds me of my t/d Horne Brushbows.

I seem to shoot better with a recurve and have a Sitka on order now.

The profile on that bow is sweet!

I just shot his new takedown last week and it's definitely a high performer. No hand shock, quiet, fast shooting, a dream bow for me. He will tweek the one piece to look like the 3 piece so it will perform like it to. Plus for a guy who always shot 64" bows it was exciting to shoot a 62" with such ease and success to so I'll be getting one this spring.

Out of all the bows I've owned and shot over the years Blacktail have eluded me...

Might have to change that.

And for those who like ease of tuning; the sight window is cut 1/8" past center. The site originally said 1/16, but was updated to 1/8".

Man,  I have to start saving my change for one of those.  I really like 3 piece longbows.

Do it, do it!
If you're ever down this way again Al, a few of the local boys have blacktails you could shoot.
And we'll squeeze in a Sambar hunt too.
