Does anyone out there shoot a 27 inch arrows, and know how to make them heavy weights?  Woods and Aluminums?  Any help will be appreciated.

How heavy are you looking for?

My arrows are 27",too!
There are two possibilities:
Change to a heavy wood like ash or maple( I prefer maple seems to stay straight after sealing);
If you change to heavy woods, please look for quality: My tapered maples are almost indestructable, but straightness of the shaft before sealing is important and straightening must be done using heat. Remember that you will probably have to change your spine number, since maples have a slower dynamic recovery rate. That will usually mean you`ll need heavier spine.
I think it is worth to try Arrow Art for maple arrows. I got a real nice and straight dozen from them!
For aluminums: remove insert and stuff the shaft with a polypropylen rope you can get at a home improvement store in the correct diameters;
adds about 100gr and will not affect spine.

Ya can get a cedar darn close to 600 with that 27" arrow, just ask for some heavy weights from the supplier. I shoot a 28" arrow and get my cedars after dipping and sealing up to 600 with 125 grain head. Shawn

Yep, what Shawn said.  My cedars are 26.5", and go 630 gr with a 200 gr head.  Larry at Lost Nation made them up; I just requested a weight for him to hit.  Took a little longer, but worth the wait.

I am somewhat vertically challenged myself and shoot a 27" arrow.  For heavyweights I use laminated maple from Dinks Feather Shop (www.dinksfeathershop.com) or laminated birch from Alleghenny (www.arrowwoods.com).  Both of them you can even get tapered.  And being laminated, they stay strait real well.  The maple will be over 720 depending on your finish and point, the birch will be about 620. They make exellent arrows for hog hunting.  I'll not go after hogs with a lighter shaft.
