I'm headed to Colorado in Aug and will be hunting game management units 68 and 551. They are located in south-western Colorado. Does anyone have any experience or info on these two units?

Hey Craig, that's some gorgeous country down there. I have not hunted there but I've been in those areas several times great mule deer areas. We've seen elk way up high in the summer. Close to the divide! Don't forget to pack your oxygen tank!

Thanks Matty. I hunted in unit 67 years ago and I do remember the lack of O2. We are going out a week early to help acclimate.

That's smart. Lots of guys underestimate the altitude. Last year I met a guy at 11,000ft who was from Denver he was having issues from the altitude and was calling it quits. Heading back down. Best of luck to you!
