Cedar Arrow Spine
« on: January 16, 2017, 08:16:00 PM »
I am wanting to try some cedar arrows again and wanted to see what spine you all would recommend.  My bow is a Kota Kill-um shooting 43 lbs at 26 inches and I would like to tip them with a 125 grain broad head and point.  Thanks for any input.

Is the bow a recurve or long bow, is it cut to center, past center or before center. Is 26" your draw and are you useing Dacron or FF string.

FF string, 26 is my draw length, 60 inch recurve, and bow is cut very close to center.  I was hoping to have a 27.5 or 28 inch arrow.

45-50# would probably work, but I like to overspine a bit and would go with 50-55#

You're probably right in the middle, and could get either to work.If you go 50-55, I'd start with a slightly longer arrow, or go ahead and cut them for 28"BOP, but maybe go to a 145 head.

Talked with Tim Finley today at Kota Bow Company and he suggested a 50-55 and I also talked with Suzanne St. Charles who also suggested a 50-55.  So I guess that is my arrow.  I believe I will order from Suzanne but would also like to consider Paul at Elite Arrows but have not been able to get into contact with him.
