First time out........
«

January 21, 2017, 01:11:00 PM »
Well the weather has been mild and the snow is almost all gone. So I decided to try my new knee out for the first time on my backyard range. Took a Treadway Black Swamp and some cedars to see if I remembered how to shoot. Haven't been out since Thanksgiving. I was careful not to slip on the wet grass but still can shoot......lol. In fact I shot pretty good.
Boy it felt good, shot about 25-30 arrows and started to get tired so I stopped. The new knee is working pretty good and I can't wait for the "REAL" nice weather to come.

Ron: I am so happy to hear that your new knee is getting to be functional. It won't be long until you are able to get around without giving it much thought. Keep working on getting stronger.

Good to hear take it slow and easy it's wet and mucky out there. Still some spots of ice left.

Awesome! If this weather holds the whitetails should come through the winter in great shape, so I'm thinking next fall might be your year.

Hey Ron, good to hear your up and around after the knee surgery. Take it easy and try to do what the Drs. say. A few shots at the back yard target is good therapy!

Great to hear Ron! My backyard range has a pretty fair slope to it so I haven't tried it yet. Temp here is 68 degrees right now and I am fighting the urge as best I can. Glad your knee is doing well. My knees are progressing as they should or maybe a bit ahead of schedule.

Thanks guys.......My PT is going well, walking with out a cane, can do stairs up and down if I go slow. Sun just peeked out so I may go out again for a bit. It felt good to see an arrow fly and hit the target.

You will love that new knee, Ron! I got mine back in 2002, and next to marrying my wife, it was the best decision I've ever made! It got me back in the woods again, which I had been pretty much forced to give up due to the bone on bone condition of my right knee.
Keep up with the PT and do what the doc says and you will be amazed at how much better life is without knee pain.
