Well, I am reading Fred Bear’s field notes (3rd time) so I would say Fred and Glen St Charles with out batting an eye. I hunted the Brooks Range last year, which was an area Glen hunted in I think 1957 just before the Little Delta hunt.
My grandfather never shot a deer but always wanted to. I would have loved to take him along to deer camp with my dad, uncle and cousins. I joined my uncles annual/biannual (depends) deer camp about 5 years ago. Our grandfather died in 1991, I started bow hunting in 1996 and harvested my first deer in 1998. He would have been proud of me and he would be glad to see us keeping the family tight by our deer camp reunions.
I have a couple other good hunting partners now. My friend Bob Tastsides (Yeager on LW) and I hunt together a lot. Fred Kasch is a guy I would like to hunt with more, I think it is basically up to me and my invitations. Fred is 93 or 94 now and a great guy, in great shape. We hunted in 2005 and I harvested my first Trad deer. Last year was a good hunting year but for some reason we did not hunt together. I hope we get our signals straight this year so we can have a few hunts together.
I have posted this picture before but I want to share my buddy Fred w/you:
The one hunting buddy, I forgot to also mention is my dog Robbie. Typically, he goes to my place in WI when ever I hunt, so he is someone I like to hunt with too... LOL he sits at camp, does not get out much.
Long answer but Mr Bear and Mr St Charles are at the TOP of my wish list. Would have been tough to make the 1957-58 Little Delta hunts and the 1959 hunt I was 3 months old.....
Based on that and that they already had a "Bill Wright" on that hunt, I am not sure I could have gone. :D
Regards,
Bill
