My Grandfather. He was born and raised in Michigans UP back when it was REAL wilderness, and he lied about his age to get into WWI at 16. He was a true woodsman and taught me so much in the short time I knew him. He died when I was 13, but I spent summers with him from about age 9 until then.I still carry his knife. He defined "Man" for me.

Biggie...Thank you !   SOMEDAY I would love to take you up on an invite like that.  Chasing hogs and eating southern vittles sounds awful good right now.  I am currently at work in Romania and probably won't be able to free up the time real soon however.  I haven't killed a hog yet and would love to someday.  Oh well..

Some day....  invitation goes both ways ya know.  I have no wonderful property of my own, but I have spots for "up north" whitetail deer.

One more hunt with my Dad, who passed in 2015. My daughters, and brother. I’d love to share a camp with the Shrewhaven crew, and Steve Turay, as I’ve become a very big fan of his bows, and can talk with him for hours.

Just found this awesome post and I'll readily admit that I didn't read all posts (yet).  While I would truly enjoy hunting with many of the past and present legends of our sport, I believe I would choose to spend 3 full days hunting with 3 individual anti-hunters.  I'd love to have them experience a long, quiet walk in the dark and a peaceful, expectant sit awaiting daybreak.  I'd enjoy seeing the look of wonder on their face while hearing and seeing the magic of mother nature springing alive all around them.  An informational Q&A conversation around a campfire lunch would be sweet.  Next, a sunny, yet cool, afternoon walk through the Michigan forest and a restful sit until dusk just might help motivate a spiritual change of heart.  I'd most likely pass or intentionally miss any shot opportunity for good measure.  Ending each day with some good venison jerky, a not-so-short glass of bourbon and a farewell handshake or hug would bring a warm smile to my face and heart.  I'd most assuredly take sufficient time to reflect on each encounter while savoring my second glass of bourbon.

1. Definitely my grandpa. He and my dad were the ones who introduced me to hunting, and since dad usually had to work on week days, grandpa was always the one waiting in the driveway at home when I got off the bus. I killed my first deer with him, and I'm extremely thankful for that since he passed away the following spring.

2. Fred Eichler. I love his shows, and he seems so genuinely excited about everything, whether it's a monster buck or a doe. He just seems like he would be a fun guy to be around, and all the people I've talked to that have met him say the same thing.

3. Fred Bear. Who wouldn't? If I could be even more specific, it would be on his Little Delta hunts. (That way I can kill multiple birds with one stone, since Glenn St. Charles would be there too. )

Damfino! I'm not sure I could find three willing to hunt with me. But I'll try.

1. Gregg Dudley - I met him years ago when I first drove down to TBOF events, and we have been friends since

2. Biggie Hoffman - he lives just up the road a few miles, and he's a pretty fair archer and a nice guy

3. Steve Turay - a nice guy who shoots well, makes great bows, and he appreciates fine Scotch

I've made lifelong friends with guys in camp I wasn't sure of early on.
The Lord can surprise you with people who can change your point of view and open your eyes just by sharing a campfire and a meal with someone at hunting camp.
