1st Deer Trophy
« on: October 29, 2007, 10:15:00 PM »
I don't normally take request to make knives but this past year I've been asked to try and make a couple of special knives.  These are were for two young men and their 1st deer...a real nice spike and fork horn.

First of all, I've only done full tang blades and added split antler handles.  But my tradgang friends twisted my arm to come up with a usable trophy for their sons.  Cutting a young man's 1st deer horn was a little tense

Here's the spike knife...Doc

That's one nice piece of work there Doc. It sure beats hanging the first-timers horns on the wall.

Way to go!!!  :notworthy:    :clapper:    :clapper:
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.
