trying to get the wifey involved
« on: January 27, 2017, 10:47:00 PM »
I got my daughter a Black Rhino M35 little longbow and she loves it. Before our kids, my wife had a compound with me and planned on hunting. Well now that Ive gone trad, I wanted to get her into it so we can stump shoot while we camp and stuff. The wifes compound had to be pink and all that jazz, but she was a pretty good shot. She is 5'3' and slender. I was thinking 30 lbs draw. Any ideas on something that might appeal to a feminine woman? Aesthetics are going to make all the difference to her lol. Under 500 dollars would be a good price point to start. Any ideas? I was thinking pink leather wrapped handles on a darker wood or something. Anyone have any experience on getting a ladylike lady into traditional gear? lol

The Bower who immediately comes to mind is Tracy at St Joe River Bows.  I'd bet she will be able to come up with a bow your wife will love.  They are a sponsor here.

Maddog Archery. He can make a custom recurve or longbow. He made a beautiful purple diamon wood for my daughter

I would think you could also get a pink, or other color, ILF riser and modestly riced limbs and come up with a very nice bow for quite a bit less than $500.

You could buy an old Bear for $100.00 and then put a $399.0 paint job on it.
