Looking at one of these or maybe a 3 piece Big Jim? Thanks.  Bill

I have one that is 62" 52@28". Very VERY good shooting bow. It was a little more picky tunning an arrow compared to some others I have had, but well worth it once I had it dialed in it shoots amazing. the riser is an awesome fit for me. I had another longbow on hand that I actually just sold today that was the same specs. The blacktail was a little faster and just as quite.

Never shot a big Jim bow so not sure there

I will be watching this one! I have been looking into them also. Do they make it in a 58"?

I see one in my future.  The grip looks just great.

I bought a 60 " 50 lb at Kalamazoo and agree with bearsfeet's post. Beautiful craftsmanship , smooth and quick and once I found the right arrow a great shooter.

I went to Norm's shop and shot his Sitka recurve and while I was there, I asked about the 3 piece longbow and he shipped one out for kzoo the day before.

Although he did not have a complete 3 piece longbow,  he did have a t/d longbow riser and I can say the grip is much like his recurves. My hand slipped right into it like a glove.

If he would have had a complete longbow to shoot, I'd probably be waiting on a second Blacktail in addition to the Sitka I'm waiting for now.

First good impressions for most is the first time you pick a bow and your hand just seems to slid right into place on the grip.

I would buy any Blacktail or Big Jim bow without shooting it. Norm, Alan and the big fella only build good shooting bows that they would shoot themselves. We often forget that the best bowyers are all great archers.
