I have a picture of a buck I was able to kill the other night and would like to share with the gang. My issue is with firewalls and all of that stuff here at work I cannot access any of the sites that would let me post the picture....if one of you could help with that I could shoot you the picture via e-mail and then I could tell the story after you put it up...please and thank you!

This guy was shot in MI last week.  I had seen him dogging some does in the brush, and tried a grunt tube, which he politely ignored. It would seem the does he was interested in weren't interested in him so about 20 minutes later he headed my way. Maybe he was still reacting to the grunt...maybe not.  Anyway I had pretty much given up for the evening and was watching squirrels do what squirrels do, my arrows all stowed in the quiver.  And there he was 10 yards and looking at me like, what in the world are you doing up in that tree?  I have been experimenting with eye contact...it seems if I get in a staring contest I always loose.  So I closed my eyes and just kind of peeked at him, about 20 seconds of that he walked away without a care in the world..stood up, took an arrow out, knocked locked and shot, took him at about 20 yards quartering away.  What a great feeling!  thank you for letting me share it with you.

thank you for the kind words!  This deer really made my week..dressed out 130lbs of boneless meat!  Deer burger burritos are on the menu this year...gosh, with a nice catch of salmon I had this fall I am truly blessed.

For those curious..The bow was made by Jeff Massie, 64" long, 53lbs @28" and the arrows are tapered cedar with a Magnus 145 on the end.

Ha!  I have to say this state has been kind to me, I just wish they had a good football team!!  I teach shop in a small school district in the state, come spring I'll put up a post with all my students that make longbows in my shop class.
