Just went out today and spent a couple hours looking over trails, rubs, scrapes and any signs to help on stand relocation.

When I seen your title, I WAS going to say they better be in the freezer, thats where I left them!
Then I seen it was about scouting. Yes, right now is the time, to pick your spots!

I know where a few of them are bedded down. It is an area I stay out of while out snowshoeing. I don't want to bump them out of the area and have them waste energy stores. We have a lot of snow here and I worry about their food supply and dwindling energy stores.

This is why I find so few shed antlers. I can't help but be looking for rubs, scrapes, and tree stand/ground blind locations....

For myself, this period is not the lull but prime time for establishing and implementing, by far, the most primary and productive prep elements.

Out in the fields eating grass since all of the snow is melting. If there's one good thing I can think of about this winter, and I struggle to think of more than one, it's that the deer are not having to struggle through deep snow everywhere to get food.
I went out this evening and saw roughly 350-400 deer eating on the various bare patches of ground. This weather is crazy for this time of year!
