Picked up a few arrows

Spent the weekend at the the Wisconsin Bowhunters association's 76's annual convention.
I picked up 3 dozen full length cedars (32" long) 11/32 spined 50-55 that are about 40 years old. They were never used. The tips were never tapered. Sweet cedar. Also picked up some 2018 and 1916 aluminums.
I almost have enough arrows.

Quite a nice haul there RGK.
Just as a safety precaution, check the cedar shafts closely for cracks and all nocks so that you don't dry fire with a broken nock. Replace any that look bad.

I just figured with the talent pool here somebody would have an idea Id not yet heard of yet. The razor knife is working well. The former owner had crested white and then orange over them so I can move pretty fast without running the risk of hitting cedar with so much paint as a buffer.

Wasn't there an earlier thread in which the arrows were dipped in acetone? I think the guy said the fletching could be reused but paint and plastic nocks "melted". The steel wool, redip, crest and refletch. Never tried it

Nice bunch of arrows. Those old cedar shafts are sweet.
