After a couple of fruitless stalks we let the area cool off a bit, heading back to the first area we corned. We spied a lone javi on road and it was game on. There was a light rain falling and the wind seemed good. I was up to bat.

At the last moment prior to shooting the javi must have smelled me, and it trotted into the thick mesquite and cactus. It didn't go far, as I could still see it, and there was a clear window for a shot. The arrow was away and the shot looked pretty good, maybe a bit high I thought. Nathan and I began to trail immediately due to the rain, but the blood trail was pretty sparse and we lost the trail after the rain picked up the cover got thicker.
