New A&H riser
« on: March 15, 2017, 04:53:00 PM »
I just wanted to take a moment to show off Larry's new riser he sent me. This is the 3DH riser. A little back story: I purchased an ST riser from him, but it just didn't fit my hand well. I sent the riser back and Larry made up some new 3DH risers and he gave me the pick of the litter. Thanks for your excellent customer service, A&H!

The last riser I had was the 3D low wrist, which is limited to a max weight of 50#s. This riser has the medium grip, no limb weight restriction and is slightly larger through the throat. Can't wait to shoot  some woodies through her tomorrow.

Yep, Larry's a great guy  :D  I like the 3DH riser myself as well.

Very nice indeed.  Trying to determine if there's a difference between the standard and 3DH riser. They both have the same throat dimensions. According to the web site pix, it looks like one could have the standard riser in a lower wrist, but not the 3DH. So, the standard riser with the standard palm dimension and 3DH riser appear to be the same thing. Right?

Or is the palm area of the 3DH lower than the standard but higher than the low wrist iteration of the standard riser? Doesn't look that way in the pix, but maybe so.

I'm not sure which riser the 3dh most closely resembles, Orion. You're right. The throat is the same as the ST, however, the shelf on the 3dh is higher. The lower palm rise may be slightly slower on the 3dh than the ST, but I'm not sure. The problem I had with the ST was that my hand would ride up on the throat, causing the webbing of my bow hand to be possibly impacted by the arrow quill. To me, the angle of the palm swell rise to the throat felt like a steeper angle with the ST riser than with the 3dh. That observation may not be accurate though because the 3dh has a higher shelf radius than the ST, which may be skewing my perceptions of difference between these two risers. My hand, I noticed, does ride up on the throat of the 3dh riser too, but the higher shelf may be the difference. I also built up the shelf height a bit with leather, then velcro.

I initially didn't notice the higher shelf in the pix, buy you're right. It is higher.  Should give a tad better arrow clearance.  Sure is easy on the eyes.
