Josh Ecterling Feather service
« on: March 25, 2017, 12:22:00 PM »
Last fall, I contacted Josh after he took over Matt's Feather Grinding business.

I had a pair of wings with super long feathers.

I'd figured out working with Matt to freeze the wings, then thaw and use a box cutter to fillet the whole feathers off the wing bones to lighten the load.

Josh warned me that he was about to be deployed and it would be this time frame for them to be finished.

He just sent them... WOW!  Are they done nicely... I just got whole feathers back, nothing chopped to size, just full length ground feathers.

Did you know that you fly tiers can get Feather Biots from Josh?  Turkey are longer then Goose and he has some dyed as well.  Contact him for custom grinding, chopping or biots!

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.

Tracker 12, he's an Associate sponsor

[email protected]

is his contact information...

Much the same as Matt's old format...send him a pair of wings and he keeps one, sends you the other... just pay a tiny bit for postage.

If you want FL feathers, you're done, if you want chopped, dyed or whatever... he has rates for all that... Check his page on Assoc Sponsors.

I have never posted a bad review on anything, and haven't up to this point, but I had a couple dozen out of the ones I got ground that I was not pleased with at all.

This was right before he was leaving to be deployed, so I don't know if they were jsut rushed through, but I received a couple dozen that the quill was ground a little unconsistent.

The good ones were as good as i've ever had, but there were some that weren't as good as the rest.

Daniel,

I am sorry to hear this, the email you sent before I left said nothing but good things about the feathers I sent and custom chopped for you, and requested a dealer price list so you could carry them. Please send me an email what you were displeased about and I would be happy to help you out.

Josh

To anyone wondering, I have since spoke with Josh.  When he got my feathers, it wasn't much time between that and him getting deployed, I believe he may have forgotten to check all the feathers before shipping them(he confirmed this).

He also promised to "make it right".

Josh, thank you for your service.
I have only dealt with Josh once. Not only was his product very nice, but so was his communication and customer service.
Relax,

There can't be much money in what he does for us old archers!

He was very forthright with me when I sent mine, confirmed receipt but admitted he was about to be deployed.

We're all human, and mistakes are part of our persona... sounds like he's doing what he can for Daniel to make it right...

Anyone who has to be "away" for 6 months at a time has my respect and admiration...

Thanks also for your service to us all and our country, Josh!

Thanks Doc. I want to do this as long as possible. There isn't a whole lot of money in it so whenever anyone needs feathers, even if they are Trueflight feathers, let me know. I carry all of them!

Thanks,
Josh

What about goose feathers? I've got several goose wings I'd like to get done, along with my turkey wings. Interested!
