My new PrimalTech longbow
« on: March 27, 2017, 09:12:00 PM »
Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut, that's how I found Brian Wessel with TallTines bows. If I recall correctly the first bow I ordered from him was one of his first few.
... I think I may have found another nut! I recently had Randy (a.k.a. crittergetter on here) with PrimalTech bows build me a 2 piece longbow. I got ot Monday and shot it this weekend at a local tournament with some woodies a made up. I'm very impressed, I'm normally a recurve guy and haven't shot a longbow seriously in about five years.
I've always thought Dan toelke's longbows are top-of-the-line as well as centaur but I was so impressed with this little bow 60" I'd have to put it right up with them. Smooth, stable, and very fast as well.

disclaimer: I would consider Randy a good friend and just all around great guy even if his bows where terrible LOL

This bow is a real work of art...I'm more of a performance person so this is one of the nicer looking bows I've had made! Luckily performance is superb as well

How long has Randy been hiding this secret? Never seen or heard that he made bows    :biglaugh:

Does he have a website?

Hey guys, thx for all the kind words but I can not take full credit for Micheal's bow. That bow is off of KennyMs design. I do make a few very minor changes in limb taper and profile to fit my liking but nothing that anyone else couldn't do. Also Big Jim and Mike Rash ( legends bows) have been huge inspirations and have helped me out in so many ways. That bow is simply a product of their teaching.
I do have a 3 piece of my own design that took me several years to tweak to my liking that is top notch. But would have never gotten there without my "mentors"!!  I just gotta give credit where credit is due!!
