What do you think is the best Cock Feather Alignment for shooting off the shelf?

With my carbons, cock feather up.
I am shooting more 4 Fletch on my woodies now, but with the three Fletch I have left them as they come. I have tried cock feather in, but on only one set of arrows does it seem to matter.

Some interesting results so far. Haven't tried it in a 12 o'clock position, I see better flight at around 10:30. Something new to try!

I've been trying cock feather up lately on my 1969 K-Mag, with Gold Tip carbons,(off the shelf) and flight seems pretty good.

Wherever it needs to be to get good flight. My bob lee likes it cock feather in. Predator up. Most of my older bear. It's out.

With my JO-JAN right wing I shoot with cock feather in, with another jig (can't remember what brand) left wing cock feather out.

Cock feather in for me! It has produced better arrow flight on every bow that I have had.

If the arrow is well matched to the bow, really doesn't make much difference. I shoot in and out. Cock feather in seems to give just a tad better clearance. Some folks really like cock feather up. If that works, then cock feather down should work just as well. Hmmmmm.

I agree, if spine and nock height are correct it makes little difference. That said, I shoot cock feather up or in depending on shelf configuration.

Once my arrow is well tuned, it doesn't seem to matter where the cock feather happens to be, because good tune minimizes feather contact. That being said, I have had some recurves with some pretty big shelves that were in the way of the feathers no matter how well the arrows were tuned. On those bows, having one of the feathers in the "up" position seemed to reduce contact a bit.

What is "out" or "up" in relation to say the points of a compass as you look at the nock end of the arrow from behind?

"up" being North parallel to string, West being perpendicular to the string etc.

You got it. North is cock feather up, West is out, East is in and South is down.
