Anyone use Loctite GO2 Glue to fletch?
« on: April 02, 2017, 06:58:00 PM »
I was looking for Duco but came across "New" Loctite GO2 to try as a replacement. The package says it's shock, water and temp resistant and usable for the most of the same materials as regular super glue. It has a 5 min repositioning time, sets in 30 min, and cures in 24hrs. Says it has the strength of Polyurethane and the versatility of Polyoxysilane. It's more economical than super glue at about $5 for 1.75oz.

Has anyone used this glue or know what it would compare to?

I'm using it for feathers on polyurethaned wood shafts.

I went looking for Duco recently and it turned into a safari. None of the usual home improvement stores or craft stores have it on the shelf anymore. Went to one of the last remaining mom and pop hardware stores and found some. I had begun wondering which of the plethora of other offerings would be compatible with poly finish if Duco is no longer available. I guess you have answered my question. Thanks.

Duco is still available, just not at most stores due to people sniffing it.We still stock it and sell it for$2.95 a tube, plus actual shipping.

I haven't used the loc-tite to fletch. I have used gorilla glue gel a bunch. It doesn't react with my bohning lacquers and paints. I have used it on every kind of arrows I have

I fletched three arrows last week with the GO2, seems to do good so far. It does keep a rubbery feel to it but they are still holding. I also glued on Phenolic and wood bow tips and overlays on a bow I finished recently. Holds quite well but the fine sanding and finishing is more of a challenge with the rubbery texture. Not your normal Ca glue but seems to be okay for fletching.
