I put some cattle mineral supplement out for the deer last evening .
Dug a small hole about 4" deep and about 16" wide tapered like a wok pan . I poured the 40# bag in the hole and it heapped up about 10" above the ground .
Today I went to see if anything had touched it .
The deer had it below level with the ground and the area looks like they were fighting over it .
Didn't think they would have gotten into it that fast .

Once they find it, it goes like a bag of Doritos...

I find that deer usually find corn around my place within 24 hours. Turkeys seem to take a little longer (48-72 hours).

I put some salt out for the deer two days ago. I went back today and found big bear tracks in the mud by the lick. It seems like they show up earlier and earlier each year. The deer have almost quit using the area because of it.

That's what I use too. I also use the Big 6 mineral (I think that's what it's called), that's produced by the same company.
