Apple Arrow Saw Users
« on: November 01, 2007, 08:15:00 AM »
To any of ya that use and Apple arrow cut off saw, I figured I would pass along this little piece of info.  I make several dozen sets of arrows a week so I cut a lot of arrows and I noticed that the fiber new blades coming from Apple were junk.  One blade made it thru 7 aluminum arrows and was gone.  There is a slight visual difference between the old and new blades and they don't last at all.  In my search for an alternate fiber blade I found at Harbor Freight the other day a 3"x1/16" fiber blade for 69 cents.  The arbor hole is 3/8", which I opened to a 1/2" for the Apple arbor.  Works perfect and seems to be holding up considerable longer than the Apple fiber blades at a tenth of the cost.  If you have an Apple cut off saw you might want to look into them.  dino
