Big Bird down in Kansas
« on: April 11, 2017, 12:52:00 PM »
Enjoying the last couple of days of the Kansas archery-only turkey hunting season. Heard birds gobbling on the roost right away in the morning and then called a bunch of jakes and three gobblers in to my hen decoy sitting about eight yards in front of my pop-up blind. Put a strutter down with a well-placed arrow (on a string tracker, but didn't need it). Also shot some wild flowers in a field near the blind.

Nice bird-congrats on your hunt and enjoy the flowers as well.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Fantastic!! Congratulations!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
