Cleaned it up today and used fine steel wool to get a paint mark off of it. Only one small scratch on it. The surface from tip to tip is prime condition. And all it needs is maybe a coat of wax to make it shine. Even the snake skins are still top notch. It's a little on the heavy side 70# at 26" so i might have to join a health club..   :p

I'd be taking the uncle out to dinner, or dropping off a 12 pack.  Just to make sure no other "junk" gets hualed to the dump.

Good save

Good find for sure, but I doubt very much the owner just abandoned it. Probably lost, stolen or trashed by an ex-spouse. No name on it? It should have a name and/or serial number on it if you feel guilty about keeping it. Dave or Beth could probably solve the mystery.

Gene the present owners of it wither they had it legal like or not knew the stuff was to be cleaned out but abandoned it after the appropriate days allowed. Most of the junk was just that, the bow was thrown in with it. Way ahead of you sent a email    :readit:   to Dave and Beth with numbers and name for info..and doing follow up on it.    ;)

Update.... So far,My first email back from Beth is The bow made in 2002. I researched and sent out emails and found out the fellow the bow was made for /name on the bow hasn't lived in the area for several years according to people who knew him. Not much on him on the internet, but there was three and he is the third. We don't know yet if the bow was legally sold from him, if it was stolen or a ex threw it out. But if it was stolen or throw out by a ex How could any of us not want to know the truth before laying claim to it or make things right for the poor fellow. I know it is one the best bows out there and made by one of the best. I only dream of owning such things, an probably give a nut to own one of these bows. But i must go further... So i need help finding out, the name on the bow is Ralph Dowgin the third. Anyone know of him.

To help narrow it down, what parts of Iowa was his last known whereabouts? It's a must to find this individual, in my opinion.

A simple free search turned up only two listings in the USA for  a Ralph Dowgin...

Call both of those phone #'s and see where they get you.

If you really wanna freak yourself out, go to Zabasearch.com and do your own information (name/state).  It's scary what's out there for anyone to see...for free.

On the plus side, I was able to find a couple old Army buddies using that site.

Thanks Mike, First number disconnected, second number all circuits busy. Even bombed out on closest relatives... He lived in Keo for a short time but two of his friends said they haven't seen him in years. The mystery/search continues.
