Chad, I should be able to provide 15-20 osage staves for the gathering.  In the evnent I can't make the weekend, I'll simply make a trip early and drop them off for the gang.

Very genereous offers, both Mike and Dave.  Any help with staves or laminations would be a huge help and savings for people.  Mike, my shop is not wired for 220 although I do have a generator that is.  Chad

We'll see if there is a need Joe.  Sure would be fun to rip out some osage slats.  I'm going to ND for one last hunt this weekend.  I'd like to get one more deer to keep for the bow building weekend.  Chad

Time to bring this back up to the top.  It won't be long now.  In the next month or so I'd like to know about how many people to expect so I can make plans.

Again camping in my yard is free (and spacious)  I can hook you up with Crow Wing Campground if you want to stay in a more modern camping facility.  It is only 1 mile away.

This is just a chance for people to get together and work on building bows and knives.  Nothing formal.  You would be responsible for your own materials, camping stuff, food, etc.  All I would provide is a place to gather, my shop, and equiptment.
If you want to talk to me you can email me at [email protected].  Chad Holm

Tonight I'm working on making another duplicate form for my hybrid longbow.  This way we will have an extra form for glue ups.
Here's a picture of the shop I recently finished.

I'd love to come, being a fledgling at this it would be nice to see how others do it in person.  All the tips I have gotten have come from this great site.  Where are you in MN?

That's one really nice looking shop. Should work great for building bows.

I plan on making the trip as well. Sounds like a lot of fun. And if you need any help clearing out some of them pesky Turkeys give me a holler;)

I'm wintering some turkeys too, my dog has them all rounded up for me, unfortunately I was too busy hunting to put in for the licese AGAIN!

HalfRack,

Just get that dog to keep them around untill the 2 week season rolls around in May. Then just slide the door open a little and shoot, you may even get the dog to retrieve it.

Hey Chad,

Dave Simon and I are tentatively planning to be there.  It depends on whether his son goes to the Camp Riply Scouting event.

If I don't see you this weekend, see you at Coon Rapids.

Brent
