Anybody shooting a St. Joe River recurve?

Looking at one and wondering how they shoot? Are they Quiet? How about smoothness? Fit and finish? Any other info would be awesome. Thanks, Bob

I shot them a ton at the shows.keep saying I want to buy one but my wife has other plans. They are smooth and I like the hand grips. Plus Tracy and her husband are super nice folks

Been shooting a St. Joe recurve/longbow for going on 6 years now.  

I've been playing around a lot with my wife's SJR Torrent and It's a VERY smooth bow. I'm drawing it 39lbs @28” and it's a 56” bow.  

I'm considering getting a 58" Torrent and retiring my longbow...But we'll see.

I own a St. Joe Torrent longbow, 53# @ 28, 60".  It is my main hunting bow.  Nice draw, and really likes heavy arrows.

I too have one of her longbows, shoots great,very quiet.

They are really nicely made.  I have handled one but not shot one.  Workmanship showed attention to detail and finish.  I hear nothing but good.

I'll also include that I'm currently shooting and hunting with one of her classic longbows that was a custom configuration with narrower limbs and deeper cores.  

Only reason I'm looking at a new replacement is because after doing alot of form work this past winter, my draw length has increased and now at my draw length the weight is about 7-8lbs heavier than what I now find comfortable.

I shot a Craig Potter built St Joe recurve exclusively for more then 10 years.
Fantastic shooting bow. Very smooth. My is 60" 52lbs, I draw 30".
One of the best shooting recurve you can find.

The risers are slightly different on the new bows, then what I own. Esp the grip, Tracey has made them more narrower and "rounder". I think the riser length is a little longer as well (I could be wrong on that). I am pretty sure the limb design is the same.

I also have a Craig Potter built St Joe River longbow (52lbs 62" length). Nice shooting bow in its own right, but not as smooth as the recurve.

Yep limbs are the same. Risers are actually  a bit shorter. On the Classic. We also have the Torrent model that is a 54" or 56" recurve. Our standard  grip is a bit rounder, but can be 100% customized to what the customer wants.

St Joe recurves are pretty nice. Draw smooth and beautiful colors. Dave and Tracey are wonderful to work with also. Can't find many better in the trad world
