Just read this though, much to masticate on. Interesting about the artificial lights. It has been my experience that green works better, perhaps because it more closely simulates moon light. Those dusk activated sidewalk lighting thingies work great strapped to feeder legs. Blue may be a strong contender. As for color, I hunt Granger WMA in TX allot and hunter orange is required when hunting there, even with bow. My fletching is 5" orange/barred orange, and I have a camo orange vest on. The pressure at Granger is heavy, being so close to Austin, so the pigs wear Nikes and are always running. We joke that they sleep at 5 m.p.h. San Gabriel river runs right through the middle and there are a couple ponds, so water is not an issue. Baiting is ineffective since there is so much pressure from daily hunting. Plus, night hunting is not permitted. I would have to agree that motion is the most critical thing to avoid when close to hogs. Hope to kayak in next week and perhaps hit some of the less visited spots to get a poke at a piggy or two. The thickest nastiest spot are the places the hogs are, until pushed out. Briar patches are good hiding spots, and daytime resting areas. Stalk them with a good pair of binos and then be ready to rumble. It is wing shooting for pigs, shoot 'em in the lips!!!
