I just read the thread again, start to finish. One thing that no one touched on was the weather.
Since I hunted a week earlier than normal, it got pretty cool in the evening. Especially on the quad rides, you wanted gloves,a warm hat, and something to break the wind, kind of like this guy:
But, even on stand in the evening it got cool. On most of the evenings I wore light Moreno wool long johns with Sitka Mtn pants along with a long sleeved shirt topped with a down sweater and my Asbel wool hoodie over that.
I can tell you that the first thing we did when we came back at night was to get the wood stoves going in the tents, even before supper. Then it was nice and warm before settling in for the night.
Just thought I'd mention that.
