I'm going to tell this story for a buddy who isn't on here...yet.
I got my buddy sat up with a tradbow. We got him a #40 Sammick Sage, some .500 spined black eagle outlaws, 165 simmons land sharks, and of course, a new string.
. He has been practicing religiously, before work, after work, on break, etc. He has been "bitten", and there is no cure, except more trad archery!
We went to a friends land and began out walk. This is a big trail that is a little grown up that surrounds a big body of water and lets us walk about 50 yards from the water the whole time. It's absolute PERFECT for stalking hogs!!
It wasn't long until we realized their was a pig or two in the area!
While we were walking down the trail, I saw this weird track and drag mark.. My mind went to thinking about what it could possibly be.. then it hit me... ALLIGATOR.. AND A BIG ONE!!!
This is a size 12 boot for reference..
Here is his trail drag:
It wasn't long and Chris and I saw our first group of hogs. We tried our hand at getting up on them, but we just couldn't make it happen. We then decided to split up and try to "divide and conquer". Sure enough, my phone rang in no time.. "I just shot a pig". I then go over to meet up with him. Here is what I found..
It was a 15 yard shot with a 40 pound bow and wide COC head. The hog went 12 yards after the shot. Chris did his job of putting it where it was supposed to go.
Taht's 2 holes in a decent sized pig with a #40 bow.
