Just wanted to let you guys know that we now offer a premium 5/16 hickory arrow shaft. These are a quality hardwood hunting shaft that will give you weight and strength.
We will soon have 11/32 in stock as well.

Mike, do you have them in a spine around 65#? How much would a 5/16" shaft like that weigh?

55/60 Darren is the biggest now. We might have some later in the 11/32. The 5/16 weigh over 500

I will be keeping an eye out for heavier spines. If you get some that spine up around 75# I'll be getting in touch.

What's your experience in keeping these straight?

I used to shoot ash and hickory. I liked the hickory for weight and durability, but keeping them straight was a challenge.

Just a heat gun, but you need straight grain hickory with no run off and this is good stuff. I haven't had trouble once I heat treat it and then straighten it.

Thanks Mike! Will you cut and taper? I'm sure a pencil sharpener type tool might not do the trick on this hardwood.

Cool! Some of the best shafts I ever shot were hickory. Hard maple makes a good one too.

The thing that I like most is the weight and you will have a hard time breaking one.

First orders are shipping out Monday! These shafts are weight and spine matched and are running most around 600 grains some of the lighter spines are still over 500 grains. They will make you a very heavy hunting arrow!

Mike, do I need to reduce spine with hardwood shafts? My LB likes 60-65 spine, should I stick with that?

M60gunner 55/60 is the heaviest spine that we have in the 5/16. If you don't use to heavy a head or to long a draw length and cut the shaft as short as you can, they might work. We will have 11/32 at some point but not until sometime next year.

These are the shafts are selling like crazy. I can't weight to see the results this fall. I will have some on my hunt in Africa this August.

My finished shafts are all in the 800 plus range.
