Who is heading to Cloverdale?
« on: June 04, 2017, 10:06:00 PM »
Cloverdale is hosting their 30th annual Traditional Archery Nationals starting this Thursday and running thru Sunday, June 9,10,11. Should be a great time and I hope to see a lot of Trad Gangers there! There is a free Coon Shoot on Friday night and Monty Browning is the featured speaker on Saturday night. 25 target practice range in addition to the 50 target competition range (2-20 and 1-10 target range).

This is my favorite range to shoot. I have been to all but 2 of these shoots. Great target set ups and scoring is 5 for a kill and 0 for a body hit or a miss. Some complain about the scoring system, but I like that you score for a kill and don't get rewarded for a wound. Heck, you don't have to turn in your score card if you don't want to.

Great range, great folks and a great time! If you have nothing planned for this coming weekend, do yourself a favor and head to Cloverdale!

It's my plan to be there at least on the 10th. 9th is my anniversary, but I may make it there during the day. I hope to touch base with Big Jim and pick up a couple of items.

I'm hoping to make it there. Scheduling is pretty hectic right now with work, shows and 100 mile race training.

Ditto all that you said, Mike.  I too have only missed two years of this great shoot.  Look forward to being there again this year with my buddy George.

I was planning on going but I'm having a health issue and while I'm hoping to start treatment this week I doubt I'll be able to make it by then.

I am thinking of starting a KIK group, so those who want to meet up and chat be easier.  Thoughts?

Planning on being there Saturday for the first time.  Hopefully bringing son and daughter with me too.  In between bows right now, but want to see what it's all about and I'm actually off work so I'm going!

I may go saturday being that its only an hour from home. I cant get around good enough to walk a course yet but it would be good to get out none the less. If anybody sees a younger guy wearing a vpa t shirt and a leg brace on the left leg waddling around thats me

You can find about anything you need from the vendors there.

Parts of the 2-20 target ranges have some pretty steep hills. They have ropes suspended on poles (like handrails) on the steep places. The 10 target range is pretty flat and if I remember correctly the practice range is pretty easy to get around on.
