Martin Archery's 2008 Line Up
«
on:
November 02, 2007, 11:05:00 PM »
Anyone else happen to see their updated web page and the 2008 line up. Is it me or has the whole world gotten a case of bad taste (apparently Martin thinks so!).
I have been a huge supporter of Martin/Damon-Howatt since I started in Traditional Archery 7 years ago. I currently own a Saber, Stick, Mamba, Hatfield and just traded a Vision. Everyone one of 'em is a first class bow in performance AND looks; but this new direction they seem to be taking will have me shopping elsewhere..... I am just shocked.

Doesn't look all that different to me and they even added some new bows.

All I noticed was the lack of the "Vision" and the addition of a couple new bows.

I'm talking about the woods they are now going to use (dyed Birch and laminated woods )in the Dream Catcher, Hatfield, Hunter, Mamba, and the X-200. It also looks like they dropped the Vision and Serengetti. I would also guess a couple of the new bows are imports judging by the "European craftmanship" description.

All to differant tastes i guess. I think its the best looking Dream Catcher they ever made. And with a laminated riser probley the strongest. JMO

BAK,
Yes, I guess I am a little sensitive.
Curious, would you pay good money for a Martin Hunter that looks like that?

The laminated/action wood type risers are nothing new for Martin/Howatt. I had a 97 hatfield that was grey actionwood and zebra wood. Also had a solid grey acitonwood Mamba back in the mid 90's. Personally, I think it's a rather sharp looking line of bows.

I honestly didn't realize the black/grey actionwood type material had become popular.
I guess that is why Martin hasn't asked me to be on their marketing team yet!
Cool, well I'm glad to hear others like the new look in the ol' tried and true models. Thanks for seeing me through my panic attack guys. I'll calm down now.

Hmmmm, the Venom looks kinda like a Barta bow.
Nice though!!!!
The hunter would compliment my gray/black mid 80's Mamba very nicely.
It certainly looks nicer than last years clown colours.
The Dreamcatcher,,,nice, but I still like my standard 97-98 model.
The X200,Wow that's a face lift for sure.
