ILF Longbow Limb ?
« on: June 20, 2017, 09:41:00 PM »
What does everyone reccomend for a solid set of longbow limbs for a 19" trad tech titan 3 riser?

I'd recommend recurve limbs.  Limb pad angles on most ILF risers are designed for recurve limbs.  On an ILF, they're adjustable, of course, and longbow limbs will work, but usually not as efficient.

Regardless, limb length depends on your draw length.

I agree with Orion, if you're wanting longbow limbs try and find a riser with as little deflex as possible, like the DAS DX-5.  Sky also makes a few risers that will work, and Zipper too.  For limbs I recommend Centaur or Border Raptors.

As he said, they will work on the Titan 3, but be prepared for a high brace height, one way to avoid is get lighter limbs and just crank down the bolts to get the most preload, but then that defeats the purpose of ILF

The Border Raptors purposely have a thicker wedge to deal with high deflex risers, I might add.  They and Centaur are the two top picks IMHO.

It'll be fine, just likely deal with a higher brace height to stabilize the limbs.  Play with it.  You'll still get good speed.  And if anything you'll be able to run some recurve limbs too.  What overall length are you going for?  What's your poundage and draw length?

I would think the TT Longbow limbs would be designed to work well with their risers, but I've been wrong thinking logically before!

I agree that mating risers and limbs from the same manufacturer might be ideal

I have been happy with the Dryad ACS longbow limbs. Never had the pleasure of trying the others mentioned.

aim small, Once setup you do not want to tighten the limb bolts all the way down on an ILF rig, just thought I would mention it.
shoot straight shoot often

I have a TT Recon riser with longbow limbs from TT. It's a left hand I bought to work my opposite side......seem to work well. 15" riser with 35# limbs. I have had several other brands of longbow limbs but never could get friendly with them so I sold or traded them.
