JARHEAD,

That's a dang shame, I just PCS'd from Quantico to Camp Pendleton in early June!

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of guys bowhunting on Quantico, just not alot I'd hunt with personally.

I'll tell you this...if you don't hang a stand on the west side of the food plots in 15A on a West or Southwest wind you're a nut!!!! Good luck, PM me and I'll give you all my spots!

Jarhead, area 9B for me. Quantico is a great bowhunting spot.  I drove down from D.C. every Saturday

I salute every service member.  I think about half the nation is disconnected from our guys and gals who put on the cloth daily.  They think they know....amazing how many kids cannot pass the ASVAB these days.   I am almost 21 years retired, but still have all thiose "bad" habits-like running every other day.  Surely do miss the integrity of people around me.

I hear ya Skip. 24 years retired from the Navy. Just not the same anymore, even in my current career with Federal Law Enforcement. Just cannot get the caliber of people needed. Everybody wants to get paid for doing nothing, no work ethic what so ever. I salute all of the Active duty warriors.

Jarhead, Try Ft. Beloir too. I used to hunt there and they have great ranges both indoors and out.  What I like about Belvoir is you could keep your stands out for the season. Other installations I've been stationed did not allow you to keep them overnight. There was a guy there at the range who did lessons and was very good with Traditional equipment but I don't remember his name.

Are you up at Langley?  If so, there are a good amount of local 3D shoots with a solid group of trad archers...Dixie Bowmen, Tidewater Bowhunters and Archers, Kingsboro, etc...usually a shoot every weekend within an hour's drive or so.

I am currently stationed in the UK, and didn't get into archery until after I left Williamsburg 15 years ago.  I will have to check them all out next time I go back!
