I leave mine stung unless there is going to be a period of time when I an not shooting reguraly.

I made the mistake of leaving my Legend longbow strung and at some point the glue line gave way and ruined the bow. It was stored in a climate controlled shop away from sunlight. Never again!!!

I've left bows from various bowyers strung for a full calendar year in a test. Only one bow showed any signs of ill effect. It lost one pound of draw weight; but that bow was 30 years old at the time. A Bear Static Grizzly from the 50s(which made it about 50 years old) was also in the test and it came through fine. He were the test condition. All bows were braced within 5 minutes of each other. All bows were shot (20 arrows) everyday.The bows were hung on wooden pegs in a room that was on the north side of the house and on the south wall of the room so they never hung in sunlight. Bows were wiped down with a soft cloth and Forbes finished wood cleaner.

Leave them strung alaways. I have one bow that has been strung since 1967, the only time it was unstrung was to change the string or tinker with brace height. I would guess in 40 years it has been unstrung maybe 1 hours time and has not lost a pound. If it is gonna be in a hot car or traveling very far, than I unstring them. Shawn

If the glue line gave up the ghost from just being strung for an extended period, it would have eventually let go on you while shooting at some point.  Bad glue happens some times.

Ok, I'll be the odd man out. I always unstring my bows after shooting them, unless I'm breaking in a new string then I'll leave it strung for a few days.
Never had anything bad happen from unstringing my bows. I realize from all the testimonies I have heard that leaving a glass laminate recurve strung indefinitely is ok, but I just can't seem to make myself do it. I guess it's just a personal thing.

btw I have heard of drywall damage from leaving bows strung and the string breaking though.
