54" actual string length .
Brace height of 8" would be a good place to start . And adjust up or down from there .
Depending on how old it is , you might want B-50 or B-55 string .

Hey Mike, That is a great bow!  Enjoy it.  I find they like about an 8-8 1/4 inch brace..
Relax,

Should be 73 to 76.......

My choice would be a Flemish, 14 strand Dacron B-55 string 54-54.5". Probably end up real close to an 8.25" brace height.

Mcground On my above post I meant to say 53.5-54". 54.5" would be too long.

Your going to like that bow........Grizzly's are a favorite of mine. I have a hand me down from a great Uncle of my mother. Just a good old bow that is fun to shoot and even more fun to hunt with. You'll like it to still hunt your best spots.

Yes, they are great shooting bows. I have three in lefty. My first trad deer was with one I bought new-old-stock back in '81.

Great bows, and each one seems to have its own personality. I had one that wouldn't settle down until I hit 9" of brace height on it -- and once I got it there is was a sweet shooter for sure.

They are great bows.......good grip and feels like it just belongs in your hand taking a walk in the woods. A couple of wool puffs and it will just be a whisper. Have fun.......
