Pre season work

What's everyone doing to get ready for season other than shooting? I am getting ready to plant some food plots and move some tree stands.

Went out yesterday scouting, eastern NC woods can be discouraging to say the least. Due to road closure though my hunting area didn't get hit hard last yr and th deer had a break? So hoping for the best. Problem is getting to a place to hunt! It is thicker than Cambodia in there.

Bears are there too! Good reports of them and saw some BIG tracks yesterday.

Ive had trail cameras out since April. Been moving a couple cameras to new areas lately to get a feel for whats there. Done most of my boots on the ground scouting just after season closed back in the winter while sign was still visible and fresh and skeeters wasn't out! Still doing a little scouting during cooler days. Cant wait till September!

On Long island I stay out of the woods from May till the end of August due to lyme disease. afraid of the not seeing the nymph ticks until too late. Did some scouting in March and know where I want to be. I'll put on some trail camera in September and hang my stands then.

Right now I'm doing stand maintenance and I'm going to try to make some wedgelock harnesses.

Last week sprayed some walk in trails with round up and pruned lanes, stands are up. Put out cameras last week for inventory.
