My "new to me" Blacktail bow (pics)
« on: July 12, 2017, 10:29:00 AM »
I've been wanting to purchase a blacktail bow for a little while now, and today I purchase a gem of a used bow. Thanks, Don! Can't wait to get it and fling some arrows! I thought I would share some pics.

Have mercy that's a fine looking bow ! I bet you can't wait. Let us know how she shoots for ya.
Congrats!

I've heard nothing but good things about the craftsmanship, how they shoot and their speed. I just hope she shoots well for me.

That is the most incredibly beautiful bow I have ever seen! What are the woods and draw weight? Congratulations!

I wish I knew the woods used. The seller wasn't sure. I'm guessing Cocobolo and Tiger Striped Maple. The bow is 66" 53@30. It's a little longer AMO than I wanted, but I couldn't pass it up. I draw 29.5" so it should end up at 52#@28 or so.

Longbow, I think you will like the length.  I had a gorgeous 62" for a spell and was not happy with the length and I draw same as you.  I kept wishing the bow was 64 or 66.  That one is a beauty!

Awesome bows, one of my favorites and yours is certainly a looker. That 66" should be smooth as silk on the draw.
