Today I killed a small buck with my longbow. I've been shooting since last winter. I never understood what people meant when they said,"I'll take the shot when it feels right" Now I get it. I didn't think about yardage like it would with a compound. It all seemed to happen so fluently, I saw the buck, and never thought about shooting or not shooting. My bow came up, I drew, and watched the arrow go right where I was looking. Clipped part of the heart and the Wensel Woodsman left a blood trail that a blind person could follow! The only down side to the story is that by next year my hunting area will become a new townhouse community.
I'll try to attach a pic. I'm still surprised that everything came together.
