Cock feather position question

So I've always shot cock feather out. My arrows have been consistently hitting left by about 2-3 inches depending on distance. I've done all the tuning I know to do and that all checks out. Decided to try cock feather in today after arrows going left, and they started hitting center. Will feather position have that much effect on an arrow, or is it just me pulling the shot? I shoot instinctive by the way.

My experience has been that cock feather in can help a marginally tuned arrow fly toward where im looking.  On my bow if the arrow is really tuned feather orientation does not matter--- but every bow and shooter is different.  If it works, use it.  Good shooting!

I have had bows that seem to shoot better with cock feather in as well. May have been me, may have been the tune. I don't know. But if it works, don't fight it.

I shoot cock feather in with RW feathers and cock feather out with left wing feathers...and I am right handed.

I can see how that would work for an instinctive shooter.  Having cock feather in would give the nock end of the arrow a kick left when the cock feather hits the strike plate, which would move the POI to the right.  Hopefully it will be the same kick every time.

I think, to a degree, it depends on the shelf configuration - how narrow it is. But in general, if the arrow is the correct spine, feather orientation makes zero difference.

I'm not into micro tuning to the point of making myself go crazy.

I noticed my broadheads will fly just a bit better by simply flipping the arrow over to cock feather in. Pretty simple solution to a minor thing.

Target points, cock feather out. Hunting arrows, cock feather in.

I have a Jo-Jan right wing, and when I put cock feather out the bottom hen feather hits the the out side edge and can flip the arrow.

Cock feather in on right wing eliminates that. This is with a tuned arrow. Now with left wing I have no problem with cock feather out.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :-)

I shoot which ever way the arrow goes on the string and haven't noticed any difference at all.

Depends on the shelf. Mike Palmer told me to shoot cock feather in since my arrows were hitting the shelf. That fixed the problem for me with that arrow combination.

I do not look a lot of times. I use same color on all feathers for my "shooters".

Exact same situation for me. Was hitting left by couple inches. After reading this post I went with cock feather in and started hitting center mass.
