Whip vs Whip HS profiles please
« on: August 08, 2017, 11:35:00 AM »
I've searched the archives trying to find pic's of the old Toelke Whip vs the Whip HS and haven't found any.

Could someone post pic's of thier unstrung and strung Whip profiles please

Someone will probably come up with some.  Dan himself would probably be a good source, I'm sure he has some archived somewhere.  One of the friendliest bowyers to deal with and will go out of his way to make customers happy.

The amount of additional r/d in the HS is not too radical from what I remember, and I think most of it has to do with how the lams are tapered.  It's enough to add a little extra oomph and the strung profile didn't change all that much really, just a wee bit more flip noticable in the last few inches of limb when braced.

I agree with Nineworlds9. I have a 62" Whip 52# @ 28". Performs like a 55-56 lb bow

Since photo bucket deleted everyone's picture there not anything showing in the old archived post.

Can/will someone post some new pics of your Whip's old and new HS

I haven't figured out picture posting again yet, the 66" models are not HS so you might figure out what you want by looking at a 66" and a shorter HS model.

David if I remember, per Dan when he made the HS changes, it isn't that the 66" is "non-HS", it's that it was the only length that did not require a performance/construction tweak??  OP like I said I would contact Dan himself, it's always a pleasure talking with him!

I've had both, couldn't tell a difference.  Original felt a touch smoother, hs a touch faster.

Chuck,

Already have and that why i'm posting I have a new bow on the way and would like to  see some pic's if anyone has them.

And don't want to brother Dan (I know he doesn't mind) and let him work.

His site has a ton of pics but not one showing a clear unstrung profile.

So to restart getting some Whips pic's back on the gang post up if you got them.  I will definitely do so when mine come in, thanks.

Todd,
I came across your old thread that showed the difference, but Photobucket has removed all the pics
