Never worked well for me. Been at this for at least 65 years.

You could try. I am sure someone will say it works. But I am in the NPV glue group. Used to use Bohning Fletch Tite as well.
If your in a hurry Super Glue works as well. My brother in law used just regular old SG. Nocks broke from old age before glue let go.

I use duco on everything with NO problems. The trick is to spray the shafts with BullDog adhesive promoter, then you are good to go

The only way Duco will work on aluminums is if you dip or spray the end in poly.

I've used it a bunch for nocks with no issues.  Never thought about it not working,  until this thread...lol.  Tape is the only thing I have been able to count on for fletching.  For nocks I've  always grabbed whatever is handy and not had issues.

Bud B..............

BullDog adhesive promoter can be bought at any
auto body shop supply, Most auto parts stores, I get mine online at either Amaz......or Fl****. I spray the area of the feathers, dries almost instantly and is invisible after it dries. One can will last for years.

I have some 1918s, some are dipped some are not. I scratch up the nock end a little with a file.  I just went and tried to twist off the nocks glued with Duco, they seem stuck. They have been shot many times and I have not had one fly off yet.  Perhaps it just needs a surface to key on.  I use to use Gorilla Superglue gel, just a drop or two, I know that will hold them, but I was out when I repaired my arrows a while back so I just used what I had.

It's not just being able to twist the nocks off that determines weather the glue will work for me or not. It's when I hit a solid object like a tree or target backstop. If the nock flies off that glue is in question with me if it happens more than once. Same way I judge how a fletching glue works.

The only thing I use Duco for is to glue on nocks. Aluminum and wood.

I had a nock pop off when I shot a concrete block, that was glued with the new Fletchtite.  It was a bet, shoot the half eaten rotten apple off of a concrete block at 20 yards.  We both lost. I hit a half inch low, my buddy shot high and lost his arrow.  We did not put the apple on the old block, someone else left it there.

I couldn't find any clear nail polish, so I put a dab of red nail polish on a swedged aluminum nock taper, gave it five minutes and then glued on a nock with Duco. That works. Waiting 15 minutes and tried to pull it off, I can not.  Time to go shoot.
