Kanati tuning?

For those that shoot a kanati, was there anything that your bow particularly liked?  Im shooting a 58" and 50@28 but am having a devil of a time getting it tuned perfectly.  Seems to need a higher nock pt than Im used to. Shooting 28.5" 3555 traditionsls with 150gr insert and 200 gr point

Drop down to 1535s and try 200 gr at the point.
Your current 350 gr up fron might be making your back end too stiff. And definately tie in 2 nocking points.
I shoot very similar set ups

I just got a 56", 50#@28", Kanati.
The GT 500s, 30-1/2", 62gr insert & 150gr points that I have tuned for another bow, 60", 49@28, are showing weak, and the flight is wobbly.  Going to have to tune some more arrows.  Maybe shorter, with lighter points or a 400 spine with more point weight.

Im not going to hunt with arrows that light. How would a heavy front weight make them too stiff?  It should weaken them.

Might go back to just 300 up front but I would never drop lower than that for hunting purposes

You are to weak in arrow spine.  I think that  is a .500?  My Kanati is in the mail. 60lb@30". Planning to use .300 black eagles w 350 gr up front

Yes adding point weight makes the arrow weaker but we're talking 350 grains on one end It weakens them in initial flight but the tail end stiffens up. A few yards out.  You might want to consider woodies. If you want a heavier arrow. It's just an opinion.... I have 3 Kanatis. And I've probably had 8 more over the years. Might want to talk with JK too. Good luck

I shoot 3 under and use 2 nocking points. My arrows are Beeman ICS hunters 400 spine at 30.5in with either 200gr point and standard insert or 125gr point with 100gr brass insert. this arrow flies great for me at 52#@27in.

I own 2 56"50@28,45@my 26" draw. I shoot 3 under. I use gold tip 35/55 cut at 27" with 100 grain inserts and 150 grain stingers. They are fletched with 3 5" full helical feathers. Brace height 7 1/4 nock height 1/2"

My Kanati was a dog of a bow until I raised the brace height to over 8" -- At that point it settled down, got quiet, and was a sweet, fast bow.

Every bow will have its own quirks that you have to figure out. It can sometimes be frustrating, but the results of experimenting can be terrific.

With that much weight up front, your arrows could be borderline weak.  Could take off a few grains and see what effect that has.

Regardless, you say it seems to need a higher nock point.  If a somewhat higher nock point works, go with it.  Bows are different.  Tiller, grip, length, etc., a whole bunch of factors can contribute to optimal nock point placement. Do use two, as as has already been suggested.

I have a 60" about the same specs otherwise. I braced it at 7 5/8" I left a carbon heritage express 150 full length and had 175 grains up front,with really good flight.

Theyre not weak. When I short draw at all I get a right fletching kick and sometimes get a kick upwards off the shelf. It seems that I get really close with an arrow but even a slight deviation in either direction makes it worse. Three rivers sent me some shafts that are fletched left wing. Everything I have that is right wing seems to fly better. I just dont have much. Waiting on some bare shafts to come in the mail today so we will see. I absolutely despise tuning bows. It draws my target panic back out of hiding and just overall drives me nuts. Best flight I can get so far is with a 28" .500 shaft with 300 grains up front

Sean you are right about the 300 upfront with that set up. I've had too hard of a time cutting shafts to the length I want and then trying to find a tip. Try shooting one full length with a 145 or 175 or maybe even 200.

Im going to shoot some bare shafts when they arrive. I was getting pretty good flight a few days ago but now everything shows stiff. Its very strange. Ive owned a few 50 lb curves with the same shelf cut and was always able to get .500 arrows with 300 grains up front to fly great.

I hunt bears and pigs a lot and really like heavy, high foc arrows

A 30" bare shaft is hitting perfectly where I look. Strong tail left but thats typical for me as a right hand shooter. Both the 32" and 31" hit to the right on the target.

Will fletch that one up and see what happens after drying

Well. Ended up getting perfect flight with a 28.75" shaft and 300 up front.  Those insert extenders that gold tip makes seem like they should weaken a shaft but because they add static lemgth to the arrow and actually seem to stiffen them. Best flight is cock feather up. Gotta shoot broadheads still but I dont expect any problems.
