Im looking for a budget priced takedown longbow, something less than $500 . Any models out there in that price range?

BearPaw 3 piece for under $500. If you don't like the LB limbs for $180 you can put recurve limbs on the riser.

I guess it depends on what you are defining as "budget priced".  Some folks budgets are higher than others. Hatrick has a beauty posted on the classifieds for a bit under $500.

If your budget is $500 then what M60gunner said. The Bearpaw/Bodnik Mohawk with Longbow limbs. We have 3 Bodnik bows in our household. Not the fastest bows on the planet but accurate, fun to shoot and a lifetime warranty.

Sorry, I just read that you were looking for a T/D. Wish I had a lack of coffee to blame.

Check out out Crooked Stic. I just got a take down long bow that shoots great. It's way cheaper than any other take down longbow I've had. Not only is it cheaper, but it looks like a very expensive bow.

At that price point I would seriously consider a used longbow.  You should  be able to find a quality used bow for that amount.  In my opinion, I would rather have a top notch used bow than a spanking new bow that is mediocre in performance.

Take at look at RMSG, one of the sponsors here.
They have all kinds of used bows for less than $500.

Just shot a Black Hunter longbow that came from Twig Archery in Ohio. It's a Chinese import, but man was I impressed. Like $199. Check out the reviews.

I think Maddog Archery, a sponsor here, might be in that range with the takedown option.
