String wearing into limbs

I have 2 recurve bows that the string has worn into the limbs were the string touches . One is so severe that it unwind the serving. Anyone else experienced this?

Is the string wearing into the bow or is the bow wearing the string? Sounds like you have an endless loop string.

Are you sure it isn't the groove the bowyer filed in the limb? It is an alignment groove for your string.

Check your brace height first thing.  and please send good pix so we can see what you are meaning.

Ok guys the brace height on this bow is set at 8 inches that is the sweet spot I just took some photos with my phone. Am new to forum how do I get photos from phone to here.

And yes the wear Marks run from the normal grooves the string rides in down to about 3 inches below.

Oh dear I have never seen that before. It's not part of the string groove that is for sure. Is there anything abrasive on the string? Strings shouldn't be able to do that on their own.
