I recently acquired a Waldrop pac seat and will never hunt from the ground without it. Most comfortable and versatile seat ever!

Waldrop fan here as well.  Lighter than even a 3 legged stool.

I strap a small pack to it as well as any extra clothes with ease.  Lean it up against a tree or in some thick brush...no tree needed.  Extremely comfy.

Waldrop Pac Seat work great with or without trees, very light very easy packing. Also use Hammock seat but do need a tree or fence post.

Thanks Hatrick.
That looks like a great seat, cost more than I was anticipating. Would like to see one.

There was a build along somewhere recently to make your own version of the tree hammock seat.

The Hammock works as long as there is a tree in that just right spot.  We used them on Canadian canoe trips. I catch it in the back on those and the Hammock seat is great for taking a load off for an extended period.  My problem is that many of my best hunting options involve cedar trees, small cedar trees at that, things that need a tree do not work for that situation, but they do provide excellent cover.  Those cheap and adjustable three legged things that one can get for $25 or less are not tough enough to last very long, but in the right conditions they are more versatile, like when hunting on a hill side,  than many other cheap and small light weight stools.  Note, adding a butt pad to them makes them much more comfortable, just strap the additional butt pad to your belt when walking.

Waldrop Pac Seat....I don't do walmart mickey mouse chairs.  I take my hunting too serious. (no offense to those that don't)

Had mine for nearly 10 years with NO ISSUES and it will last me the rest of my life probably.
