The Hammock works as long as there is a tree in that just right spot. We used them on Canadian canoe trips. I catch it in the back on those and the Hammock seat is great for taking a load off for an extended period. My problem is that many of my best hunting options involve cedar trees, small cedar trees at that, things that need a tree do not work for that situation, but they do provide excellent cover. Those cheap and adjustable three legged things that one can get for $25 or less are not tough enough to last very long, but in the right conditions they are more versatile, like when hunting on a hill side, than many other cheap and small light weight stools. Note, adding a butt pad to them makes them much more comfortable, just strap the additional butt pad to your belt when walking.
