Well today was opening day for us Southeastern region boys and gals and it was Hot!
Hunted the morning and evening and was pretty much uneventful. A few Squirrels and birds in the morning, no deer seen.
This evening after climbing back in my lock on and absolutely drenched from the short 1/4 mile in, in the high 80's Hot!
Nothing moving till about 1730 I heard a rushing sound coming in from my downwind side, and lo and behold there come 2 boar Hogs (assuming). Both about 100# each, stopped after I reached for my bow and the lead began to sniff and sneeze.
After about the third time he turned and ambled off taking his friend with him
This was a major surprise as after about 9-10 years of hunting this land i've never seen any Hogs or any sign
3-4 years back one of the guys who had permission to hunt killed a sow that weighed 350# but other than that nothing.
Hopefully they'll return and i'll have another chance at them.
