Finish turning yellow (amber)

I've been using Pro Fin for years as a sealant/finish for wood arrows. Decided to save a little money so bought some Minwax Polyurathane. After a few weeks I noticed that it had started to yellow/amber. I would like to know if the Minwax water base poly does the same?

Not to my knowledge BUT the arrows become magnets for whatever target material I shhot into. I have to use 0000 steel wool and wax to remove gung.
The shame is on me, got in a hurry and used some on shafts I had matched in spine and weight.

Not sure about Minwax water base, but have used Minwax polyurethane and it does ten d to yellow when in the sun.It is not UV resistant. For outdoor use I prefer Minwax Spar urethane,it has UV protection.

The Minwax water base poly didn't turn yellow for me. I used it 10+yr ago and they still look good.

Another vote for Helmsman Spar Urethane. I've used it exclusively on my wood arrows for years. Usually I will lose or break the arrows before the finish wears off. No yellowing problems with that stuff.

I used spar varnish on the first arrows I made, and it definitely turned yellow. I don't know if it is a urethane or not. Not a problem as I did not make flashy arrows to begin with. I have had better luck with Minwax oil based products. It did not yellow like the spar varnish. I have not used the water based Minwax products. I now try to use color combinations that will not look bad if the shaft turns a bit yellow.

The way I understand it, just about anything with oil in it will eventually yellow some. The water based stuff probably shouldn't but I had a real problem with bubbles when I used it.
