Lol. Yeah not in Hawaii. This is the annual trip to Alaska. Me and my brother go small game hunting once every year back home in AK.

20 yard grouse is a good shot, for sure.

Man I miss Alaska! I lived in Anchorage from 85-88. Walked many miles in the Mat-Su Valley and area near Petersville Rd and Talkeetna. Shooting spruce hens was a blast!

Great post that brought back some great memories.  :)

Good going, congratulations!

And I agree, that's a lot of fun.

Spruce grouse are the main grouse here too... until winter, then the willow ptarmigan take over.

We also have a few Ruffed as well as Sharptail grouse, but I haven't managed to connect on a wary sharptail yet.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

Fabulous harvest and delectable vittles.

Love the small game hunt and hope to hunt grouse myself.

Dang I love grouse hunting with my bow.   Heck Rusty and I used to go to Idaho and call it an elk  hunt but really we were hunting grouse and an elk hunt would interrupt now and then.
