Well, I finally broke the ice after 3 years of switching from compound to recurve.
I was out yesterday afternoon hunting from the ground, wearing a leafy suit. I was on a very steep ridge and halfway down the ridge is a flat spot wide enough for an ATV trail. I was sitting below the ATV trail.
About 45 minutes before dark I see a grey fox cruising down the hill to my right. He stopped on the ATV trail to look things over and I lip squeaked at him.
He turned and walked my way, stopping at 10 yds. He was standing in some ferns and blackberry brambles, but I saw enough of him to take a shot.
THWACK and a yelp and he took off down the trail. I gave it about 20 minutes and took up the blood trail and after about 50 yds I found my trophy.
1st blood for my Bob Lee bow "The Natural" model. Wooden arrows tipped w/ a Zwickey Eskilite broadhead.
